Become a Shelter Buddy

Most people have no idea how much money it takes to run a shelter. At our shelter, the food bill alone is $1,000 per month. The electric bill is $500-600 per month in the winter. In the summer, with air conditioning needed, it goes well over $1,000 per month. Then there is the gas, phone, water, and trash service. Out veterinary bill is between $5,000-10,000 per month, we rescue many from high kill shelters in need of vet care, those that have no chance if left there. There are employees to pay who care for the animals while they are waiting for homes. The animal shelter is a 24/7 operation; no holidays or weekends are taken. Medications, which include flea treatments and de-worming supplies, run several hundred dollars a month. We do 18-20 loads of laundry a day to maintain a clean environment for the animals. Sheltering homeless animals has to be done right, which means that every animal needs to receive the care they need to be comfortable until their family arrives.

HELP Humane prides ourselves in taking exemplary care of the animals in our charge. Our shelter is a no-kill cageless facility, and we need your help. Our goal is to have 2000 people donate $10-20 or more per month. This will just cover our basic expenses. Your donation is tax deductible, as we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We do not receive any city, state, or federal funds - we survive on individual donations alone.
